Craft spirits, distilled from Santa Barbara County fruit, in the Santa Rita Hills of California
Situated in the rolling Santa Rita Hills of California's central coast wine country, Rock 12 Distillery is the region’s first farm-to-glass distillery and tasting room. Founded by Sarah and Marko Suput in 2016, Rock 12 Distillery has been a labor of love from the beginning.
Marko comes from a long line of Serbian distillers and the farm’s copper kettle was hand-made by a master craftsman in Serbia and shipped to the states. It's a small-batch, open fire still — the kind Marko's family has been using in South East Europe for decades.
In the fall of 2016, Marko and Sarah dropped everything, packed up their young family, purchased a working llama farm on the Santa Rita Hills Wine Trail, with the goal of planting an orchard, harvesting local fruit and making farm-fresh craft spirits. In the winter of 2023, after years of permits, meetings, inspections and sweat Rock 12 Distillery is now open and making some of the best vodka, gin and brandy on the west coast.
Thanks for reading. Now it's time to stop by and enjoy the fruit of our labor.
Welcome to Rock 12!
